Hi, my name is Destiny Miller! I'm 17 years old, and I'm a dual enrollment student! I'm an artist in my free time, as I do digital and traditional art. In my free time I don't just draw though, I also enjoy playing games on my laptop or Nintendo Switch, rollerskating, or just messing around and catching up on the latest in the world on Instagram or Twitter. One of my favorite writers has to be Elton John or Billy Joel, my playlists are usually full of their songs.
The most writing I ever really do is social media when it comes to texting my friends on apps such as Instagram or Twitter. Every once in a while though I'll just write down a few random ideas on Google Docs or my Notes app on my phone. Often times when I write it's for fun, although sometimes I will force myself to write when I'm full of anger in hopes that my friends will hear me out and give me some kind of advice.
I often write on my laptop or in one of my notebooks. For me, it's just much faster for me to type and get all of my thoughts down at once. My reason for writing is because I want to get all my thoughts straight. In my mind, I might have a billion things going on at once and that I'd want to say. If you've ever talked to me you'd know that I go from topic to topic. Writing gives me a chance to make things more organized in my head. How have my past experiences shaped my author identity and how can I reshape my author identity in this course? My past experiences with teachers haven't exactly helped to shape my author identity, other than one teacher all of my other teachers didn't really take into account of helping me find who I was as a writer. In this course, I'm hoping I can figure out ways to make my writing flow a lot better and find who I am and what I enjoy writing about.
